David Byrne on his Who Is The Sky? tour in Sydney was energetic and tightly put together, balancing sharp musicianship with just enough theatrical flair to keep things visually engaging without overwhelming the music. Byrne’s stage presence was warm and lightly humorous, with great moments of choreography.
The fans were delighted to witness live the set full of Talking Head classics including: "Heaven", "And She Was", "This Must Be The Place", "Psycho Killer", "Once In A Lifetime" and the encore "Burning Down The House". Bryne's solo work highlights impressed with "Everybody Laughs", "Strange Overtones" and "Everybody's Coming To My House".
Overall, the Sydney performance felt confident and purposeful that highlighted David Byrne’s enduring songwriting and his ability to keep evolving how those songs are presented live, without turning the night into a greatest-hits exercise.
