A huge part of Faith No More’s appeal to their cult-like fanbase is the fact that the band consists of a colourful group of characters, whose personalities are as varied and warped as the musical odyssey they have led us through since their beginnings.
They are a huge case for the fact that artists who stick too closely to convention and rules may do things the right way – but will rarely extend their legacy beyond a single path, and will be overshadowed by the wild, incongruously placed acts that saw…or destroyed, their way down more varied roads.
Faith No More dipped between most genres imaginable, with attention from both niche and mainstream audiences, but never quite fitting in just right, or long enough to become mainstays or even simply fade into the background. And that is why they are such an incredible band.
Their appeal, combined with their character, naturally made for some pretty special TV performances, below we have compiled some of the best:
‘CAFFEINE’ – MTV, PRAGUE, 1992
‘EASY’ – HEY HEY ITS SATURDAY, AUSTRALIA, 1993
‘EPIC’ – COUNTDOWN REVOLUTION, AUSTRALIA, 1990
