Brooklyn at Hibernian: Ryan McMullan

There’s a new live music initiative happening in Sydney and its name is Brooklyn at Hibernian.

It’s a monthly music series being held at the iconic Hibernian House in Surry Hills near the CBD in association with Young Henry’s and Moshcam.

You’ll see amazing artists as you haven’t before and probably won’t again. These sessions are intimate, invite-only, secret shoots held either in a lounge room or on a rooftop with an eclectic mix of local and international artists, streamed live and then released as professionally shot and recorded, multi-cam clips shortly after the event.

We have an exclusive clip of the most recent rooftop session – with the incredibly talented Irish singer-songwriter, Ryan McMullan.  Here is the stunning, raw acoustic rendition of his new single, “Bowie on the Radio.”

Here’s the next track from our rooftop session, “Letting Go For A Little While.”

And the final track of the session, the gorgeous, “Oh Susannah.”

Having been blessed with a voice that can shift effortlessly between the angelic and the guttural, he has honed a songwriting craft that exploits the incredible versatility and power of his god given instrument.

Since Ryan’s introduction he has garnered significant heat from industry heavyweights. From playing stadiums supporting Ed Sheeran throughout the UK and Europe, to selling out headline tours, Ryan’s rise has been nothing short of extraordinary.

Here’s what Ryan had to say about his rooftop session in Surry Hills –

In the humdrum of the Sydney City CBD, I got to experience one of the most peculiar and artistic buildings I’ve ever came across. Surrounded by skyscrapers and busy streets, A haven, Full of incredible art, music, creatives and heart. And Working alongside the good people of Brooklyn at Hibernian only enhanced the experience. I’m thrilled with what we got.

I already can’t wait to experience the wonders of Brooklyn at Hibernian again. What they stand for is truly special!

Hopefully we can set a date for an intimate gig next time if love and luck permits us… x

Stay tuned and keep your ear to the ground to see if you can get yourself invited to the next session as there are some amazing musicians lined up to perform – and these are sure to be very special shows…
