The Chestnuts. This four-piece modern rock band hail from Newcastle, NSW, Australia. Influenced by the likes of Biffy Clyro, Kasabian, Bloc Party and The Kooks, these boys have created a sound that is entirely their own.

Since forming in February 2009 they have played regular gigs ranging from Newcastle to Sydney and with support gigs for Amy Meredith, Last Dinosaurs, Neon Love, The Dirty Secrets and HOWL to their name as well as their own headlining shows at The Cambridge Hotel, Bar on the Hill, The Annandale, Lizottes and The Great Northern Hotel, they have their sights set on big things in the future.

The Chestnuts live show has been highly praised by audiences and Industry reps because of both the music and the stage performance. The band has sold copies of their first Demo ‘Yes Please’ in Australia, United Kingdom and United States and it is available to buy on ITunes, Amazon mp3, Rhapsody and Tunecore. The band placed in the finals of Youthrock ‘09 and the Grand Final of Youthrock 2010, also receiving the Sonic Factory Award and a Special Finalist award at the later. The Chestnuts have reached as high as 13th in the world on the MySpace Online Indie Charts as well as peaking at 1st on the top Indie Mover and 3rd on the top Overall Mover.
