Michael John Harvey (born 29 August 1958) is an Australian rock musician, singer-songwriter, composer, arranger and record producer. A multi-instrumentalist, he is best known for his long-term collaborations with Nick Cave, with whom he formed The Boys Next Door, The Birthday Party and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Mick Harvey's production style has often been described[who?] as having an overtly 'cinematic' vibe to it. He has stated that this is his natural inclination, and gains much inspiration from movie soundtracks both past and present.
Having spent the better part of 2011 committed to PJ Harvey’s ‘Let England Shake’ concerts, Mick is now looking forward to dedicating himself to playing more shows in support of his own 2011 album ‘Sketches from the Book of the Dead’.
